Two of our favourite people in the world (Hollywood) have come to together to formally mock the once-great genre that was/is 'romantic comedy.' Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler are here to help open eyes to what people like Zac Efron and Mila Kunis are doing to funny love stories.
I have too many deep feelings on the topic of the romcom and its modern failings to list here, but in short: we've moved so far away away from classics (yes, classics) like Notting Hill that romcomming these days means shirtless hard-bodied males meets boobs, gets crazy advice, behaves awfully, gets love anyway. NO. No.
They Came Together does not look subtle. It is SNL style in-yer-face comedy, but I believe it's what the world needs to get Richard Curtis writing more things like Four Weddings and a Funeral, and fewer things like About Time. I know you've still got it Richard.
